My name is Amanda Formaro-Davis, mother of four wonderful children and four amazing step-children. I am very happily married to Chef Antoine Davis and we live in the beautiful midwest state of Wisconsin with ourm youngest daughter.
I love to cook, bake and make crafts. I worked full time in finance until my third child was three months old. At that time I quit to stay home and raise my kids. As much as I loved being a mom, graham crackers and diapers just weren’t enough and my creative mind was going stir crazy. So, back in 1997, I got on the internet. A month later I created a website called FamilyCorner.com. I developed it over the years, teaching myself HTML, networking with other webmasters, and growing it into a profitable business. I sold that site in November of 2007, and worked there for 6 years afterward as their Chief Editor. In October of 2013 I had so much freelance work and my blogs were growing so much that it was time to let it go.
Current Projects
I am currently working with Studio Fun (formerly Reader’s Digest Children’s Publications) on publishing a series of kid’s craft books with the first two due to be released in fall 2014. The following two, which I’m currently working on, will release in spring of 2015.
Other current work includes a monthly craft column in The Chicago Tribune, craft designer for General Mills’ Kix Cereal brand, craft designer and blogger for Disney’s Spoonful.com, craft designer and brand ambassador for DecoArt, and craft designer and recipe developer for Prime Publishing’s various high profile websites.
Publications
I have been published in several major magazines and websites, including Parents Magazine, Redbook, Family Fun Magazine, Family.com, Kaboose.com, SheKnows, Spoonful.com, iVillage, Shutterfly, Parenting.com, Parents.com and many others. My passion for crafting resonates from my blog, Crafts by Amanda, where I share tutorials with step-by-step photos for adults and kids alike. I also own and manage Fun Family Crafts, a website that features literally thousands of kid friendly craft tutorials. And of course, my love for cooking and baking shines through on my food blog, Amanda’s Cookin’.
Brand Relationships
I have worked with a multitude of brands including DecoArt, Michaels Craft Stores, Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, Betty Crocker, Kix Cereal, Hershey, Pepperidge Farm, JIF, Mazola, Kraft, Philadelphia, Silhouette, Woman’s Day, Frigidaire, Sargento, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Martha Stewart, Pillsbury, Sam’s Club, Kitchenaid and many others.
